Several times a year we get together at someone’s house to sample everyone’s delicious food.
We also get together for karaoke, rock climbing, movies, picnics and other social activities. If you want to propose and initiate a social event for the club members send an email to social@rideauspeedeaus.com.
The members of the Ottawa Rideau Speedeaus d’Ottawa are active in supporting causes and events of other groups in the queer community. We also have our own annual fundraiser event swimEAUthon, which is held during Ottawa Pride to raise money for worthy causes. Over the past 10 years over $78,000 has been raised for various LGBTQ2+ organizations in the National Capital Region with up to 40 swimmers participating each year.

The Lesbian Outdoor Group (LOG) provides opportunities for lesbians in the Ottawa-Gatineau region to enjoy the great outdoors and to socialize indoors too! Members organize a wide variety of indoor and outdoor activities for the benefit of other members. In LOG, lesbians get together year-round for hikes in the Gatineau hills, potluck gatherings, snowshoe walks, a yearly picnic and even a warm-the-winter dance.
The Ottawa Date Squares is a gay and lesbian friendly club open to everyone in the National Capital region and elsewhere who wishes to learn modern square dancing in a friendly, welcoming, sociable, fun and active setting. It actively participates in local, regional, national and international square dance events hosted by a variety of clubs and associations, both gay and straight.
Ottawa Gay Men's Chorus is a local, independent, charitable organization, the mission of which is to perform quality choral music and to contribute to the LGBTQ community.
The Ottawa TimeOut Hiking Club is a hiking and snowshoeing club for members of the GLBT community and their friends. Trail destinations are mostly parks in Eastern Ontario and West Quebec ranging from nearby Gatineau Park to as far as the Adirondack Mountains in New York state. In winter, the club switches to snowshoes to continue exploring nature trails.
The Ottawa Wolves RFC is the first predominantly gay rugby team in the National Capital Region. The Wolves mission is to promote and encourage participation in the game of rugby among those who have traditionally been under-represented in the game, specifically the gay community.
The OQSL, which is in its 15 season in 2023, is an inclusive recreational softball league for 2SLGBTQ+ people, and allies, that aims to refine the skills of its members in a fun, safe & social environment.
Pride Capital Volleyball (PCV) formerly Gay Ottawa Volleyball (GOV) is a volunteer, non-profit volleyball league catered mainly to the two-spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and 2SLGBTQ+ friendly within Canada's National Capital Region (NCR). The league provides an inclusive and fun environment but also serves as a healthy social venue for the LGBTQ community.

Ottawa’s gay and lesbian curling league. Membership is open to all gays and lesbians in the Ottawa area with any level of curling ability, from a total rookie to a seasoned veteran. Individuals are welcome to join as a full member or as a spare.

Participating Taste restaurants open their doors for one evening each April and donate 25% of their evening sales to an HIV/AIDS Service Organizations in their community. Funds collection will directly help people living with HIV. Testing and treatment, care and support, food and shelter, hope and community.
Ottawa Senior Pride Network supports LGBTQ2+ seniors (50+ years old). Their work includes outreach to isolated seniors, educational programs to work with health care and social service agencies, and planning social events like dances and movie nights.
The Ottawa Trans Library houses a collection of books by trans authors, as well as historical, important and interesting works on trans issues and people. They have reading stations and tables for studying or socializing and host a calendar of events.
Rainbow New Beginnings, is dedicated to rescuing LGBTQ refugees from Eastern Africa, or elsewhere, who are facing discrimination, persecution, torture or even death threats. Their objective is to bring them to the safety of Canada using the government's private sponsorship program and through the generous donation of financial and social support by their network of friends and contacts.
